BeeWalk Training Day with Andy Benson
Join NLOW on Tuesday 15th April at Haddenham Bowls Club and Fairchild’s Meadow 9.30am-4pm, for an inspiring and practical BeeWalk training day, led by Andy Benson from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
The UK’s bumblebees are in crisis. These familiar and much-loved insects play a vital role in pollinating our crops and wildflowers, but their populations are under threat. Disappearing nature corridors and habitat loss mean urgent action is needed to protect these essential pollinators.
A morning in the classroom will provide an overview of the value and natural history of bumblebees and equip you with the skills you need to start identifying and recording the UKs most common bumblebee species. The afternoon will be spent in the field, providing an opportunity to net, pot, and identify bumblebees, consolidating your knowledge and building confidence.
This FREE hands-on event is perfect for adults keen to make a difference for bumblebees in the Fens.
Please bring a packed lunch and weather appropriate clothes.
